That’s right, no more Flash plugin needed and viewable on any device that supports HTML5 & Javascript (hello iPhones & iPads). Even better yet, Smokescreen will be open source and free! I can’t wait to start using it.

When viewing a website there are two things I look for. I want a page that loads fast and is straight to the point but I want it to look good too. Is it possible to have a Flash site that can do both of these things? The examples below come pretty close but I’ll leave that up to you to decide. With all of the buzz going on in our Web community about HTML5 and Flash, I’ve decided to dive into the fray and offer my thoughts as a 10-year veteran of both Web design and Flash development. Let me preface by saying that this article is opinion-based, and that information is certainly out there that I am not aware of, and that none of us truly knows what the future holds.

There are a lot of cool and advanced tutorials on Flash out there. However, there are too few basic stuffs available for the beginners. It is difficult to find some basic tutorials for only a simple banner rotator, or a carousel, or a flash gallery.

If you’re a new graphic or web designer or photographer at the beginning it will be hard to find clients whom to sell your design works. To find permanent job in this difficult economic situation is hard even for an experienced designers, not to mention about the beginners. If you are a talented photographer or designer, you can easily sell your designs online and be the boss for yourself.

A creative and stylish web/graphic designer’s website is the main proof of his professionalism. If your website is poorly designed, you have very few chances to attract many clients to your web studio. It’s great if a web designer’s site demonstrates his skills, reflects the designer’s unique style and his good taste
